This One Is For The Girlies In My Journalism Class
NO SPORTS TODAY!!!!!!!!!. I know, crazy. But i thought i would write about something that is really starting to get crazy. Christmas is right around the corner and that usually that means really really good times, but the money crisis is hitting me too. I have to buy alot of things for my family and other people for Christmas and it's going to cost a lot of money. The problem is with the housing market doing really really bad my workplace isn't doing to much, because without new houses there is no need for new septic tanks. Since our business hasn't been doing much my boss told me to take off work until he needs me again, which means i have no spending money for anything. It really sucks because my mom makes me pay for almost everything, my car, insurance, phone bill, stuff i want, and many others and that is taking most of the money out of my bank account, and its leaving no money for Christmas spending. Tough times for everyone right now, and it BLOWSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!
First Home Basketball Game
Friday night was the first home game for the boys basketball team and it was awesome. Not only were we playing Freeburg, who i think just about everyone in the school hates by now, we had a TON of fans. We came out and crushed Freeburg the whole game and the crowd was going nuts, and to make it better one of their best players airballed a free throw right in the beginnning of the game so the whole rest of the game we chanted AAAIIIIIRRRBBBALLLLL everytime he touched it. That kid ended up doing terrible and our crowd was doing awesome and everything was pretty pimpin, can't wait for the next one.

Worst Game of The Year
This week the St. Louis Rams are going to travel to San Fransisco to take on the 49ers in what will be the worst game of the year so far. Both of these teams are absolutely pathetic and have turned once proud franchises into the laughing stock of the league.
The Rams who feature quite a few superstars just havn't found a way to turn it around. They already fired their head coach, and afterwards won a few games, but now they are back to the same old ways. The Rams are pathetic and last week they went down 40-0 to the Jets at the half.
On the other side the 49ers havn't been much better, but at least they can say they don't even have the players to have a good record. They fired their head coach as well, and their new coach pulled his pants down in the locker to set an example to the team. Doesn't sound liek things are going right in San Fran to me.
Prediction: Doesn't matter no one is going to watch anyways.

Remember The TITANS!!!
Do you remember when the Titans were one yard from beating the Rams in the 1999 Superbowl? Well i can tell you Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fischer certainly does. Fischer has been with the Titans for more than 15 years now and many of his players this year were also on that 1999 team, and with the bad memories still in their heads from that game, Tennessee is out for blood.
They are the biggest, strongest, meanest, and did i mention biggest team in the NFL. The Titans are 7-0 and most of that credit needs to go to the enormous offensive and defensive lines on their team.
They lost their starting quarterback at the beginning of the year and many people jumped off the bandwagon, but the team rallied and now they are the best team in the NFL.
Last week against the Colts they rallied from a 14-6 deficit to go on and beat the Colts 31-21 on National TV. It really showed the Titans can win any game, any way, and that experience will really help them in the later parts of the season.

Make Or Break Week For Jags and Browns
This week the Jacksonville Jaguars will play host to the Cleveland Browns. Jacksonville is currently sitting at 3-3, and already three games behind the division leading Titans. The Jags started the year with one of the hardest schedules in the league. They played four division leaders in the first six games, and several other playoff teams from last year. They were able to salvage their season two weeks ago in Denver with a huge win in the Mile High City. The Browns however are slumping once again. They started the year 0-3 and then picked up a huge win two weeks ago against the Super Bowl Champion Giants. Then they came out last week and played a pathetic game in which quarterback Derek Anderson went 13-37 and they only produced 11 points.
This week will be different, and I believe Jacksonville has the advantage. Last week was a bye week for the Jaguars and they were able to get numerous starters back healthy. Quarterback David Garrard has been excellent the past three weeks throwing for alot of yards and he hasn't thrown a pick.
Cleveland coming off that tough loss will be banged up as well. They are a terrible road team and have one of the worst run defenses in the league. Not a good formula for when you are going to play Jacksonville in Jacksonville.
This weeks prediction: Jaguars 31, Browns 17

Cowboys playing like boys!
This week the Dallas Cowboys played the St. Louis Rams, and to the surprise of many the Rams put a stomping on those darn Boys. With all the injuries the Cowboys have indurred over the past week it is easy to see how they lost, but for a team with as much talent as the Cowboys they should never get run out of the building. This is a make or break week coming up for the Cowboys and they will need to find a way to win without their starting QB, just like last week.

Rays... From Worst To First
MLB fans across the nation are witnessing something special this October. As a matter of fact baseball fans have witnessed a special season by a special team here in 2008.
When Joe Maddon took the reigns in Tampa at the beginning of the year no one expected anything major from the team, but Joe thought otherwise. He brought a winning mentality into the clubhouse and got the Rays thinking they were the real deal.
All year long the Rays stayed ahead of the pack in the AL East, but no one thought they would continue to stave off the baseball giants of New York and Boston. However they proved people wrong and in the last week of the season they were able to clinch sole possession of the AL East for the first time in team history.
With a young and inexperienced team many people thought the Rays would falter in the playoff, but Joe Maddon got them to play good, sound, fundamental baseball, and with today's 6-2 victory over the White Sox in Chicago, the Rays are going to the American League Championship Series for the first time in team history.
GO JOE!

Cubs... Playing like real cubs in October!
Each year fans across the Major League Baseball League sit and listen to the Chicago fans talk about how great their team is. This year was no different, for four long months people across the nation sat and watched the Cubs finish with the best record in the National League, and we had to sit and listen to their fans brag.
Well they had a reason to brag all year, they had the best offense in the National League, one of the best pitching staffs, and "Sweet" Lou Piniella as their manager. They were great all year, but not the rest of us are laughing at Chicago.
I love to make fun of Cub fans, and I love watching their "curses" come into play every year down the playoff stretch. Here in St. Louis we have a saying for the Cubs, Completely Useless By Septemeber, well this year it was not September, but it is October.
Once again the Cubs are choking, they made it all the way hear, and their fans had so much hype and now they are getting drubbed. The Dodgers are crushing the Cubs in every aspect of the game, and the once so loyal Chicago fans are booing almost every inning. Looks like an end to the Cubbies once again this year.
Boy would I hate to be a psychiatrist in Chicago this week.
Good Luck Next Year Cubbie Fans.

Battle of The Beasts
This week in the NFL the Tennesse Titans will play the Minnesota Vikings. Both of these teams are just absolutely massive. Both have huge offensive and defensive lines which allow them to dominate the line of scrimmage.
The Vikings are 1-2 on the season, but they are coming off a huge win against a good Carolina Panthers team. The Vikings dominated the running game in the win they held the Panthers' very potent running game to 47 yards in the game. Jonathan Stewart, Carolina's very exciting rookie running back was held to 27 yards on the day. On the other hand, Minnesota took advantage of the Panthers up front. The Vikings rushed for 121 yards on the day while keeping control of the clock.
The Titans are also coming off a big win last week against the Texans. The Titans defensive line came up huge in the game with three goal line stops. Their feared defense was gashed for a couple huge runs however, and they allowed a 100 yard rusher for the first time all year. The Titans themselves ran for over 100 yards though and with veteran quarterback Kerry Collins under helm they dominated the Texans all day.
This week when the Titans take on the Vikings I see a massive defensive struggle. It will be strength versus strength with both teams trying to run the ball right into the heart of the other team's defense. The key to the game is that it is in Nashville where it will be hot and muggy. The Vikings are a dome team who aren't accustom to playing in such heat, so I see the Titans running game wearing down the Vikings. The Vikings will eventually crumble in the heat and the Titans will take the win 24-10.
